Online courses terms and conditions

When booking an online course through, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Cancellations & refunds

You may cancel your booking and have all fees paid returned to you for the first 10 days after payment.

Following this initial 10-day period, cancellations of bookings will not be accepted unless we are able to fill your place from a waiting list.

Please note that if you leave the course after this period or if you fail to attend all or any part of the course, no refund will be made and we will retain 100% of your payment.

In the unlikely case that a course must be cancelled, we reserve the right to do so up to 7 days before the start date. In this case your full course fees will be refunded.


You should not consider your booking as definite until you receive a notification that your payment has been processed and the order is complete.

Conduct and safety

Our online courses rely on a supportive environment that depends on tolerance and understanding of all participants and tutors and their work. We therefore ask that you are thoughtful and respectful of the other participants and help foster an atmosphere conducive to creativity and sharing. We reserve the right to refuse a place and / or to exclude from a course any participant who behaves in an abusive or disruptive manner or engages in any discriminatory conduct. No refund will be given if exclusion is made for these reasons.

All course communication with all participants is in confidence.



All of the course content is owned by Writing ELT Materials Ltd, but certain content is used under licence from third parties (‘third party content’)

You may not (without prior written permission from Writing ELT Materials Ltd):

  1. redistribute, share or supply any of the content to other people or third parties. For the avoidance of doubt, you cannot redistribute, share or supply any of the contents from the online course: ‘Writing ELT Materials’;
  2. remove the copyright or trademark notice from any copies of content made under this agreement;
  3. create a database in electronic or structured manual form by systematically downloading and storing all or any of the content;
  4. except as expressly set out above, modify, reproduce or in any way commercially exploit any of the content.
